Tower defence or TD is a subgenre of real-time strategy video game. The end is to try to block enemies of getting across the map by building up towers which dash at them as they pass. Foemen and towers commonly hold different powers and prices. Once a enemy is killed the player gains profit or points, which are applied to purchase or upgrade towers.
The option and location of the towers is the crucial strategy of the game. The enemies generally run through a "labyrinth", which leaves the player to strategically place towers, just there are also versions of the game in which the user must make the maze out of their own towers, such as Desktop Tower Defense. A few editions are a hybrid of these two types, with predetermined paths that can be altered to some extent by tower positioning. |
